driving from portland to cali was a long day. setting up camp in the dark freezing forgetting hatchet and wet kindling made it hard. bear lockers and scaring the kids with bear stories at night is my fav. driving truck down a muddy slippery mountain through two deep streams a huge mud hole and some downed trees to get to beach was really scary. truck not starting after being chased by waves on beach was not fun. seeing elk was neat. breaking into locked gate to hike see bear foot prints and hug huge trees was great. visiting granny then throwing hitch hikers with dogs into the back of pickup and taking them to the highest bridge in oregon then to the beach and back to portland with us was fun too!
